A Traced Reminiscence translates internal emotional states into physical form through instinctive, process-led mark-making. The work emerged from an attempt to consciously interpret unconscious emotional tracings, allowing gesture, pressure, and material to guide form. Inspired by the performance I Love Your Skin, the installation draws attention to the backbone of a leaf, a structure that sustains life yet often remains unseen. Through layered imprints and tactile surfaces, fleeting sensations become visible traces of vulnerability, tension, and care. The work aligns with Surfacing by revealing inner worlds as they rise to the surface, where personal transformation is felt through material presence rather than representation.
